A Sandpoint area couple celebrated with family at a dinner party featuring an anniversary cake, original china, and songs including Estrellita and When I’m 64. Heidi gave a reading, and Jerry joined in singing Poor Papa. Eldest daughter Lana Munce Jutze phoned to send congratulations. a re recorded Hope Chest script from 1947 and wedding records were played. Dr Munce practices dentistry in Sandpoint.
The Bureau of Land Management announces the sale of two 40 acre tracts in Canyon County on August 4. One tract near Caldwell is appraised at $3,000 and suited for dry grazing. the other near Miché tin is covered with cheatgrass and Russian thistle with rural home use as the best option. Bids open August 9 at the BLM State Office Building in Boise.
Club president Jim Parsons Jr. announces a 7 30 p m meeting open to members and any person interested along with possible US ETA affiliation.
The Indian Arts and Crafts Board presents Contemporary Indian Artists Montana Wyoming Idaho an exhibition of diverse tribal art. Kenneth Cosgrove and Lawrence Aripa portray Shoshone Bannock and Coeur d Alene experiences while Myles Horn from the Arickara people and other artists from Miles City Montana contribute vivid scenes of tribal life.
The Burley High School Marching Band and Steperettes, about 30 members, were struck by a car while practicing for the Calgary Stampede. Officials cancelled the July 10-11 appearance. instruments were replaced on loan and members able to march will participate. The driver, Milo Batt, 17, faced charges of drunk and reckless driving, pled innocent, and posted $100 bond.
Sandpoint American Legion hosts Selah, defending Washington state champions, in a single nine inning game tomorrow night. The club will host three games next week on July 3 and 4 and two doubleheaders, with Spokane’s Bammer Fuel here Thursday and Sandpoint at Kellogg Saturday.
