Public hearing on Sandpoint sewer plan set for July 10

The Environmental Protection Agency schedules a 6:30 p.m. public hearing July 10 at Sandpoint Community Hall to discuss sewerage treatment facilities and pollution abatement for the Pend Oreille River. Written comments with a one page summary are due by July 23 to EPA Region X in Seattle.

Ida delegate for McGovern shifts Idaho campaign vote

Lewiston Idaho University of Idaho sophomore Betty Hansen, previously uncommitted, will vote for McGovern on the first ballot in Miami. She cited unity for the Democratic Party as the reason for her choice. Idaho delegates total twenty with seventeen pledged votes and eight for McGovern overall.

Bee To Observe Fourth Of July In Sandpoint

Sandpoint Daily Bee prints Tuesday July 4 in observance of Independence Day. Events include a 4 am nine gun salute, Kids Parade at 9 30, grand parade 10 30, beach games at noon, motorcycle time trials at 1 pm, races 3 pm, boxing at War Memorial Field 7 pm, Maverick drawing and fireworks to follow.

Hansen urges repeal of federal gun laws during Sandpoint Rotary visit

U S Senate candidate George Hansen urged Rotarians to attack federal firearms regulations and repeal ammunition registration. He warned laws curb crime will deter growth and called for constitutional limits on federal spending. Hansen, campaigning in Idaho, touted agriculture representation and criticized OSHA and environmental rules.
