A light plane crash near Merritt Bros. Lumber Co. across the river from Priest River injured two men Saturday after takeoff. Leland Chase 47 of Coeur d'Alene suffered serious back injuries and remained in a Spokane hospital. Larry Byers 25 of Priest River had minor injuries.

Seven year old Francine Hebert of Mullan remained in Sacred Heart Hospital Spokane with facial lacerations and a fractured nose after a Sunday crash near Kootenai. Hazel M. Hamann 48 of Kootenai was turning from State Highway 200 onto Crandall Rd when Patrick H J OBrien 69 of Bonners Ferry attempted to pass a braking Hamann, causing collision. Youth Charged In Weapon Assault Case
