First Aid Training Offered by Sandpoint Fire Dept
The Sandpoint Fire Dept offers free eight hour first aid classes taught by six certified American Red Cross instructors. The program covers bleeding shock heat exhaustion splints artificial respiration and bandages with books and supplies provided. Groups may call for scheduling and two classes may be organized for organizations with more than 12 members.

Three southern Idaho counties Washington Bear Lake and Oneida were declared eligible for Economic Injury Disaster Loans by the Small Business Administration due to last year drought damage. Oliver Davis Boise District SBA director said small businesses in or near the counties may obtain five percent interest loans for operating needs and debt obligations hindered by revenue losses. Emergency farm loans are handled separately by the Farmers Home Administration.

The Merchant Committee of the Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce set Saturday July 26 for the annual Crazy Days sale and will seek city council approval to waive ordinances and restrict downtown parking.
