Eu gene Ross Hedlund of Priest River was arrested in East Lansing by Michigan State Police on suspicion of raping a 13-year-old girl in Michigan He had escaped from Idaho State Hospital South at Blackfoot where he was held for mental evaluation for trial on two felony charges Hedlund previously abducted a Spirit Lake woman at gunpoint to Laswell Mill in Priest River in 1971 He waived extradition and Bonnner County officials planned to return him for trial after his capture
