Priest River Youth Dies In Logging Accident
Bruce Baker, 18, of Priest River was killed early today when a cedar tree damaged him during logging work on the East River north fork. Eye witness Alvin Grismer described the accident as a snag from a fallen tree striking the two men. Baker wore a hardhat but died at the scene. He was a Priest River High School graduate and son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Baker. Funeral arrangements are pending in Newport Washington. No autopsy was ordered.

Planners Approve Six Of Eight Plats In Bonner County
The Bonner County Planning and Zoning Commission approved six of eight plats at Thursday’s meeting and asked developers to revise plans for the two remaining proposals. The group also reviewed trailers near Priest Lake, a Shelton studio, and a Schweitzer Inn project with a four story hotel and 25 living units.
