Caldwell superintendent cites program and facilities needs

Caldwell Idaho. Superintendent Darrell Deide says district needs center on program facilities and personnel funded by pay. He expects pressure for more vocational education courses girls athletics and ongoing parental interest in curriculum while teachers push for better conditions and pay. A 10 mill levy enables planning for a vocational education building with construction hoped to start in 1976 and occupancy by fall 1976.

Couple to Get Lawyer in Idaho Murder Flight Case

U S Magistrate Edward A Johnson plans to appoint counsel today for Frank Allen Metzger and Diane Lynn Hamill Metzger on federal Unlawful Flight to Avoid Prosecution Murder charges. They are held on $50 000 bond each in Ada County jail Boise after FBI arrest linked to Martha Metzger death found buried behind a Farnham New York farmhouse. An FBI spokesman said the small Boise apartment rented to Frank L Erickson was where the couple, with a three year old in custody, were apprehended. Martha Metzger vanished August 19 and the body was located about a month later.

Idaho trucks to trip scales move to northern Idaho

State Travel Policy Sparks Lunch Expense Debate Boise

Auditor Joe R. Williams criticized a state travel rule requiring employees on regular travel to buy their own lunches when returning home at night. He asked the Board of Examiners for clarification after a governor’s committee proposed changes. Williams notes patrol and fish and game staff previously received lunch reimbursements, protests the lack of meal breakdown for multi day trips, and says agencies must buy forms from the Bureau of Supplies without additional budget.

Three Killed In Vehicle Mishap In Twin Falls County

A Townsend Montana family of three died in a broadside collision near Twin Falls Idaho. Bruce Thain 27 his wife Loretta 26 and their infant Jeromie six months were killed when struck by Lucille Shank 52 of Filer. The crash occurred at East 2500 Road and North 3800 Road after vandals tore down stop signs. The Thains died at the scene and Loretta Thain died later at Magic Valley Memorial Hospital. Idaho traffic toll for 1975 rises to 132.
