Wind Storm Knocks Out Power and Phone Service in Bonner County

High winds and lightning disrupted electrical and telephone lines in Bonner County on Monday. Pacific Power and Light reported outages in Sandpoint Priest River and along Fish Hatchery Road with a 15 minute Priest River blackout. About 35 Sandpoint homes lost power for three hours due to a fallen tree. Northern Lights Inc noted outages from 7:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Damage was not widespread. General Telephone reported about 12 hours of service loss to nine Sandpoint homes and Edgemere area residence outages overnight. No fires were reported.

Man Arrested In Coin Theft In Clark Fork Area

Bonner County deputies arrested Nevada J. Williams of Clark Fork yesterday in a burglary tied to the theft of more than 200 dollars in coins and bills from a home on Upper Pack River last Thursday night. All but 50 dollars of rare coins were recovered from a trailer owned by Dorothy Hammett on Upper Pack River Road, Sheriff Robert Wilcox said. Sandpoint police officers to take polygraphs in Brown death case

Police Chief Dick Abbott announced three officers, Paul Siem Bill Selby and Sgt Guy Gardner, will undergo polygraph tests this week in connection with the Gerald R Brown death near Sandpoint on June 17 The inquest labeled police actions deplorable and prompted a joint Idaho law enforcement inquiry led by Abbott and Sheriff Robert Wilcox The investigation follows years of tense testimony and a report by Idaho LE investigator Jack Boothe due to be reviewed by the city council and Deputy Prosecutor Gary Finney.

Firemen Seek Writ Over City Contract Standoff

Sandpoint firemen plan to take the City to court after the City Council refused last night to sign a contract with Local 2319 of the International Association of Firefighters. The union cites Idaho law and says a writ of mandate will be sought if the contract is not signed.

Sandpoint Council weighs museum plan for fairgrounds site

The Sandpoint city council approved a Bonner County Historical Society museum at the old fairgrounds but balked at a multi-building complex for a Legion of Fine Arts presence. First Parking Fee Profit Reported by Sandpoint City

Sandpoint City Council discussed parking fee profits for the first half of 1975 totaling 7,102.58 dollars, compared with 5,223.79 dollars for the same period last year. Costs to collect were about 6,000 dollars, yielding a profit near 1,100 dollars. Fine revenue for improper parking rose to 427.00 dollars from 138.00 dollars a year earlier.
