Catholic priests drop family movie program at Detroit Music Hall
The two month experiment at the Music Hall Theater was called off due to inadequate weekly revenue of 4200 dollars, with admission set at 150 for adults and 5 cents for children and elderly. Parishioners complained downtown family viewing was scarce. The program started with W C Fields, Romeo and Juliet, Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Four Clowns and aimed to open Gone With The Wind next. The second speaker, Ester Wilson, spoke on nutrition and balanced diets. Cooperative annual reports, led by Jesse Lee, Carl Wommack, and William Norden, showed improved debt ratio, lower cost per kWh, higher sales, and a 110,655 net margin, urging increased sales to hold rates steady.
