Federal Spending Believed High In Speech Clash

President Nixon's top economic adviser Roy Ash and Sen. William Proxmire fault federal spending as too high. Proxmire urged cutting the 1975 budget citing military outlays as a main cause. Herbert Stein warned inflation could rise without spending restraint and tax increases. Carl Curtis urged a balanced budget now. Kenneth Bush noted a plan for voluntary wage restraint.

Price tag climbs for new US bombers and command post

Air Force figures show the B1 bomber at about 615 million dollars per unit and the airborne national command post at 78.2 million per aircraft, both surpassing the C5A cargo plane. Only seven command posts are planned and the B1’s cost may rise as development continues.

Bond Posted After Disturbing Peace Arrest in Laclede

A 19-year-old Laclede man was arrested last weekend for disturbing the peace after allegedly using offensive language. Brad L. Curley posted a $300 bond on the charge.
