Gospel Tunes and Sandwich Aid Rescue Story
The Sundberg family of Fargo North Dakota waited 34 hours in a stalled car on Interstate 94 near Fergus Falls as a Midwest blizzard drove temperatures below zero. Plows found them and moved them to a motel while they sang gospel tunes to stay hopeful and shared a peanut butter sandwich apple and two cold slices of pizza.

Forest Service completes Bear Valley land use plan in Idaho
The Forest Service says a land use plan for 190 165 acres in Bear Valley planning unit, Central Idaho, is finished. It approves greater resource use, adds 49 miles of roads in 20 years, and allows some timber harvest on about 110 thousand of 135 thousand productive acres in the Middle Fork Salmon headwaters area.

Commissioners Must Pay Filing Fees in Lawsuits
UPI reports Idaho Attorney General Wayne Kidwell ruled that county commissioners are required to pay filing fees when they are parties to lawsuits. The opinion, directed to Adams County Clerk Esther Stover, states no statutory exemption exists for county officials. Fees should be charged to the fund tied to the lawsuit's related services and functions.
Bonner County Commissioners Hear Payrolls and Licenses
The board approved payroll warrants for numerous county staff and officials. It also issued 1975 county liquor and beer licenses, approved wine by the drink licenses, extended 1974 property tax deadlines, released bonds for road systems, and authorized bids for magistrate court equipment. A call for bids on marine equipment was announced with a January 20, 1975 deadline.
