Idaho Senate Passes Special Ed Bill as Taxpayer Relief Measure

The Idaho Senate unanimously approved a bill to make funding for special education more attractive to local districts. Sen. Barker calls it taxpayer relief and proclaims students will become taxpayers rather than a drain, while Sen. Mitchell stresses added accountability requiring the Department of Education to report student outcomes alongside spending. The bill strengthens state law to push districts to manage their own special education needs.

Three Of Four Suspects Held In Worley Murder Case

Coeur d Alene—Three of four suspects, all juveniles, were in custody today in the beating death of Emma Johnson 81 Worley. Johnson's body was found at her home near Worley on the Coeur d Alene Indian Reservation February 18. FBI issued warrants for four persons and three were arrested Wednesday, held in Kootenai County Jail.

Birch Society Attacks Posse Comitatus Movement

John Birch Society leaders denounce Posse Comitatus as harmful to Americanist goals. Thomas N. Hill of Belmont Massachusetts directed field staff to reject the movement, calling it a trap for patriots. Pack River, IWA Reach Deal Ending Dover Colburn Dispute

Pack River Lumber Co and IWA Local 310 settled a conflict over a Colburn mill job classification. The compromise grants Bangman one year seniority in both the Sawmill and Landing departments, avoiding a March 1 strike by about 120 workers.
