Church Would Not Accept Pay Raise

Man Killed In Logging Mishap
A 23 year old Bonners Ferry man Gary Leslie was killed February 21 when struck by a falling tree on Dawson Ridge. He was working as a sawyer and tried to free a hung tree by felling another. the second tree swung and hit him, causing a broken neck. Funeral services were held Tuesday.

Two Vehicle Crashes In Bonner County No Injuries
Two accidents on Bonner County roads Thursday left no injuries. Jo Ann Finley 18 of St. Ignatius Mont was cited for driving left of center and no license after a collision east of Sandpoint on U S 2. A second crash south of Sandpoint on U S 95 involved Chester G Craig 66 of Sagle and Brian E Chapin 15 of Cocolalla. Craig passed Chapin then Chapin turned onto Cocolalla Lake Road and was struck.

The panel also advanced a bill granting property owners attorney fees in eminent domain cases if they recover at least 10 percent more than the condemning body’s offer.
