Idaho Senate OKs 3.5 Percent Cost Of Living Hike

Idaho Senate approves a 3.5 percent cost of living increase for state employees with reallocations on a party line vote. The measure cuts $3 million from the general fund compared to Gov. Cecil Andrus' 7.5 percent plan and affects about 42 percent of workers this year.

Inks and Kincaid sue Cims for 2.5 million in damages

Two Sandpoint men, Larry Inks and Duane Kincaid, file a 2.5 million suit against Paul and Anita Cims of Hope Peninsula claiming false imprisonment malicious prosecution and libel after criminal charges against them were dismissed at a February 18 preliminary hearing. The suit seeks 100 000 general damages 1 million in punitive damages and 5 000 in attorney fees.

Timber Sale Program Public Meeting Planned in Coeur d'Alene

Forest Supervisor Ralph D. Kizer announced a public meeting at the Holiday Inn in Coeur d'Alene at 10 a.m. on February 28 to review the 12 month timber sale program for the Idaho Panhandle National Forests. District Rangers will discuss sales planned for 1975 and related harvesting topics. All interested parties are invited.

Idaho HEW Claims $170000 Misuse in State Education Funds

The HEW audit for fiscal 1974 says Idaho spent 170 156 in federal Title I funds for the general student body or in non certified areas, and seeks repayment. State Superintendent Roy Truby disputes some findings and will audit Title I use while noting repayment would be borne by taxpayers. The review covers July 1 1973 to June 30 1974 with visits to Boise Meridian Pocatello and Blackfoot districts.
