The Selkirk District and Sandpoint Chamber of Commerce team up for the second annual Free Enterprise and American Heritage Day on March 10 in Bonner County. Officials host two or more scouts at local businesses for an afternoon, with a luncheon at noon, a four hour business tour, and a 6 p.m. banquet featuring a scout talk and a showing of the 1969 Jamboree film. Adult dining costs 60 cents. dinner is 3.00 per person.

Mighty Mite Ski Races Draw Big Turnout at Lookout Pass
About 75 junior skiers from Jackass Bowl Lookout Pass and Schweitzer Basin competed in the Mighty Mite events at Lookout Pass last Sunday. Magey Morten won the Mighty Mite Girls Slalom in 59.3 seconds, Rene Bease was third in 61.7, Evelyn Duffy was third in the Giant Slalom with 55.8, and Jen Layman placed third in the Boys Giant Slalom with 51.4. All racers competed under Schweitzer Basin.

Vehicle Sticker Gets New Code
The Boise Department of Law Enforcement will start issuing a new inspection sticker in March. Each passed vehicle receives a numbered sticker showing the month and year, with 1 for January and the color of the number indicating the year. Four Sandpoint Boxing Club fighters won on the Esquire Boxing Club benefit card in Cheney Washington. Brad Blackwenn Clyde Schilling Dick Gance and Jim Berg scored TKOs and a unanimous and split decision. The following night at Spokane juniors four Sandpoint boxers faced tougher luck at Rogers Fieldhouse. Chester Schilling and Ross Fister met in a bantam bout with Schilling claiming another win.
