Myrtle Marie Edwards 49 died February 18 in Lewiston Idaho. Born February 7 1928 in Alamedas Saskatchewan grew up near Sandpoint. Married Harry Edwards in 1959 at La Grande Oregon he preceded her. Survived by siblings and many nieces nephews Graveside service February 21 at Pinecrest Memorial Park officiated by Chuck Wigton First Christian Church.

Myrtle Markham aged 8 died in Seattle on February 19 after a life connected to ferry operations in Idaho and Washington. Her husband Captain Melvin C. Markham built and operated boats on Lake Pend Oreille and Priest Lake. Funeral services are planned in Seattle with burial at Senenaquoteen Cemetery. John P. Stoner died February 18 in Sandpoint at age 69, born April 25 1907 in Dubuque, Iowa. He married Hilda Mae Vantressé in 1933 and worked as a logger across Western Montana and Northern Idaho.

Obituary for a Northern Idaho Montana trapper nicknamed Trapper Jack who retired in 1972. Survived by wife Hilda at the Dover home. two sons Daniel Stuner Cottage Grove Oregon and Roger Stoner Dover. two daughters Thelma Pruett Helena Montana and Loretta Weatherford Bishop California. ten grandchildren, one great granddaughter, three brothers, five sisters. Funeral services Wednesday February 23 at 10 AM with Rev Ralph Daugherty First Baptist Church officiating. Final disposition cremation.

Seattle Controllers Honored for Life Saving Flight Assist

James T. Parcell and James B. Foster of the Seattle Air Route Traffic Control Center were honored in Washington, D.C., on February 15, 1977, for guiding a single engine pilot through icing and mountainous terrain over Oregon to a safe Pasco landing. The men used aeronautical charts to chart a path when radar could not track the aircraft, earning FAA Outstanding Flight Assist awards and regional accolades.

Discharge Review Slated by Army in Spokane Visit

The Army Discharge Review Board will send a hearing examiner team to Gonzaga University Law School Spokane Washington from February 2 to March 2 to conduct video hearings for former soldiers with less than honorable discharges. Applications must be filed by August 31 for February hearings. teams travel annually if applicants exist and funding allows.

Foothill College Choir Headlines North Idaho Tour

The Foothill College Concert Choir of Los Altos Hills California performs at Coeur d Alene Senior High School Auditorium on Monday February 21 at 8 00 pm under conductor Phil Mattson. The eight state tour features Bach motets early chant spirituals chansons and folksongs. Tickets are 1 for adults 50 cents for students and may be purchased at the door.
