Idaho High Schools Accredited by Northwest Association

All three Bonner County high schools Sandpoint Priest River and Clark Fork were approved for the current school year by the Idaho Committee of Northwest Association of Secondary and Higher Schools. The report notes deficiencies at each campus including size of sites labs and media facilities and lack of a full time media specialist.

Breakin Noted At Lake Street Rifle Range

A breakin was reported Wednesday at the rifle range on Lake Street in Sandpoint. Police say nothing was missing or disturbed. The latch on the gun cabinet was broken off.

Deaton Seeks Nonrenewal to State Education Board

M T Deaton of Pocatello asked Governor Andrus not to reappoint him to a new five year term on the Idaho State Board of Education. He cited legislative pressure from Bannock County and said he called Andrus to withdraw his name as a Democrat. Deaton, a nominal Republican, was appointed in 1969. his term ends this month.

Man Injured In Rollover on U S 95 South Of Sandpoint

A Naples man sustained injuries in a one vehicle rollover on U S 95 about 11.6 miles south of Sandpoint. Idaho State Police report the vehicle driven by John VanZemeren, 41, veered across the road then off a steep embankment and rolled once.
