A snowmobile tour from Red Lodge through Beartooth Highway ended in tragedy when Hugh D. Galusha Jr. 52 of Helena died during a blizzard. The group of 16 included Minnesota Vikings players and guides. rescue efforts reached the site but Galusha died before help arrived and remaining members were moved to Cooke City.

Kootenai Man Hurt In Crash Near Sandpoint
Russell J. Hansen 58 of Kootenai Idaho injured Saturday when his car hit a parked trailer tractor rig by the Trawlers Motel in Sandpoint. Witnesses say truck was legally parked without running lights. Hansen in satisfactory condition at Bonner General Hospital. No citations issued yet pending further investigation.
Weather outlook for Sandpoint shows increasing clouds
Sandpoint forecast calls for increasing clouds with a 20 percent shower chance today and 40 percent tonight and Tuesday. Highs around 50 today, 45 Tuesday, with lows near 35 tonight.
Correction fixes Elks Club event calendar in Sandpoint
A spokesman for the Elks Club in Sandpoint said an error listed February 2 1971 as Annual Past Exalted Rulers night for Lodge 1376. The date should be February 9 1971. The 6 30 p.m. dinner will be followed by a lodge meeting and officer election.
