Panhandle Health District Board Meets in Coeur d'Alene
The Panhandle Health District board of seven met today in Coeur d'Alene. Members include Moody from St Maries Crouse from Sandpoint Fredrikson from Coeur d Alene Kru egal from Bonners Ferry Reed from Coeur d Alene and Tregoning from Wardner Adams was replaced by Rosenlund. The budget totals 417346 with state 101000 and federal 108000 funding leaving about 207000 to be raised by five counties. The board discussed environmental health code overlap with the state and planned memorandums of understanding to avoid duplication. Reorganization plans were approved to improve service reach to outlying communities and the new county. Programs for family planning and home health services will expand under two newly created advisory committees.

Released Man Steals Radio From Sheriff
Eldon L. Bitton 22, of Priest River, stole a radio from the Sheriff’s office on the day of his release for a parole violation. Arrested Tuesday, he pleaded guilty to petit larceny, was fined 50 dollars and sentenced to 300 days in the County Jail where he is held. The radio was among items awaiting disposal.

Officers Look For Young Snow Campers On Mt Shasta
Two 16 year old boys Vern Cleven ger of Oakland and Bill Dougherty of Berkeley are missing after planning a week long snow cave camp on Mt Shasta. They were last seen 12 days ago carrying snow survival gear near the Konwoktion Glacier area as searchers resume efforts weather permitting on the east side of the mountain.
