Sleep 16 year old earns first solo flight in Luscombe
Sleep son of Bob Sleep from Sagle celebrated his 16th birthday by flying solo in a Luscombe single engine plane under instructor Dave Cooke. About 25 friends and relatives attended a party at the Kaniksu Dining Room. He has aviation roots with Billy Bee Flying Circus and Pend Oreille Flyers and logged 13 hours flight time.

Two Cars Stolen And Other Bonner County Incidents
Two Sandpoint residents reported their cars stolen Tuesday night and both were recovered with a juvenile suspect in custody. A separate incident involved a stump falling from a pickup onto Wally Grabenstein’s car causing minor damage. Barbara Bandelin was injured when her car left Taladhe Road and struck a power pole. An unknown vehicle struck a light pole at 1st Street and Highway 95 causing about 500 dollars in damage.
