Sacramento report quotes Herb Klein saying President Nixon will keep Vice President Spiro T. Agnew. Klein praises Agnew as the administration’s leading spokesman on revenue sharing and notes his conduct on international missions for Nixon.

Alpine Shop owner Bob Ravedal says the burglar who pried in last Saturday after hours took two ski sets and two boots, two mismatched pairs and one usable foam-filled boot. He proposes meeting after hours to swap items and even to provide a foam kit to help the thief use the foam-filled boots. The loss remains two useless mismatched items.
Sandpoint City and Bonner County offices close Friday December 24 for the Christmas holiday weekend. Local banks will shutter at 3 p.m. Friday December 24 and December 31. Police and sheriff offices stay open around the clock through the weekend.
A 27 page Seattle EPA study finds Idaho lacks unified leadership and funds for environmental programs. It notes diffuse oversight across agencies and urges creating a dedicated environmental department with centralized authority and state agency integration. The report was presented to Governor Cecil D Andrus as it highlighted water, agriculture, irrigation, radiation, solid waste and air pollution records.
Gov. Cecil Andrus appoints 39 year old Robert E. Bakes of Boise to the Idaho Supreme Court seat vacated by Clay V. Spear. Bakes, a private practitioner for six years, was among four finalists selected by the Idaho Judicial Council. He will take office within 30 days and earns a 25000 dollar annual salary.
