Schweitzer Basin suffers lift damage after a controlled avalanche blast by Ski Patrol Director John Jaeger. The blast destroyed top sections of chairlifts and knocked out four towers, with no injuries reported. Bar Robbed At Gunpoint West Of Meridian
Three masked robbers forced the Black Cat Inn staff to the floor and fled with about $300 after a Tuesday night gunpoint robbery three miles west of Meridian. No injuries were reported and the getaway car went east on Highway 30. One suspect stood around six feet tall and 200 pounds, the other two were described as slightly shorter.

Bank robber ruled mentally incompetent in Idaho case
Federal Judge Ray Mc Nichols ruled Virgil E. Clampitt 28 Yakima Washington mentally incompetent to stand trial on a bank robbery charge. Clampitt is accused of robbing the Idaho First National Bank at Eagle of 4644 on November 29 while pretending to hold a gun on assistant manager J C Cole. A Boise psychiatrist said Clampitt cannot understand court proceedings or assist in his defense.

Superintendents Endorse Funding Plan for Schools
The Idaho Association of Superintendents backed increased funding for current public school programs and public kindergartens.
