Obituary notices for Ralph Dazey and Helen Ebert
Ralph M. Dazey, 67, died December 18 at Bonner General Hospital. Born November 16, 1902 in Indian Territory, he married Eunie Timm in 1926 and lived in Sandpoint since 1945. Survived by wife, four sons, two daughters, 25 grandchildren, and several siblings. Interment at Pinecrest Memorial Park. Helen L. Ebert, 87, died December 21 at Sandpoint Manor. Funeral services were held December 23 at Moon Chapel with interment at Pack River Cemetery. She was a longtime Bonner County resident and survived by husband Louis and a niece.

A group of 28 black Jews from Chicago, 13 adults and 15 children, arrived in Israel after converting to Judaism and settled in a Negev development near Tel Aviv. They had spent a day at Lydda Airport awaiting immigration decisions as Liberian neighbors and authorities reportedly caused friction for black Jews seeking freedom and religious life.

Washington PTA Posts January Meeting Notice
There will be no December Washington PTA meeting. The next meeting is January 8 at 8 p.m. in the school lunch room. Sandpoint Social Club holds a pot luck dinner at 6 30 Tuesday night December 23 with optional gift exchange and cards. The Sandpoint Civic Club meets January 5 at 1 30 at the Community Hall. Goldie Brewer of the Bonners Ferry Art Club will demonstrate Painting a Collage. Public welcome. The Sandpoint Public Library will be closed December 24 and 25 and December 31 through January 1.

The Helsinki talks on strategic arms limitatio n concluded their five week preliminary discussions with optimism but no clear agreement.
