Fluoride Pollution Study Ties 69 000 Acres to Plant Emissions
Steve Yurick announced the release of a two year Forest Service led study on fluoride pollution near the Anaconda Aluminum plant at Columbia Falls Montana affecting 69 120 acres in Flathead National Forest and Glacier National Park. The report cites fluorides from the plant as the main cause of vegetation damage with high foliar concentrations up to 1000 ppm and shows fluoride moving via air to Glacier National Park and into insect tissue.
