Helicopter logging aids seen on Kaniksu National Forest project
A Boeing Vertol 107-11 helicopter supports logging in the Cabinet Mountains area with 200 gallons fuel topped up and hourly returns to the logging site. Maintenance runs two crews, 6 am to 10 pm, six days weekly. Two cutting areas will be viewable from Goat Rocks viewpoint between July and September.

Logging operations close roads and hike cautions issued
Road 4072 will close at its junction with Road 407A during logging. Hikers to St Pauls Lake must park at the dispersed site beyond the junction. A Dad's Peak loop passes through the logging area and hikers should follow Tagmen directions. Travelers on both roads face logging traffic and frequent 56 000 bd ft timber loads. Devils Snake timber moves out East Fork road by Joel Ballenger fleet. Three logging sales by Louisiana Pacific St Regis and Pack River Lumber Co on the South Fork of Bull River Road, travel with caution.
