Sandpoint Youth Involved in Highway Collision Near Colacolla Creek Bridge

A Sandpoint youth, Chris Gonzales, 13, is listed in critical condition at Deaconess Hospital Spokane after a late yesterday car motorcycle crash near Colacolla Creek Bridge on Lake Colacalla Road. The rider, Jack Martin 15, also of Sandpoint, suffered severe head injuries. both were passengers in a motorcycle driven by Martin’s friend. Police report the incident occurred about two miles north of the Sandy Beach Resort, near U.S. 95, and are continuing the investigation with no citations issued at press time. The seriously injured youth is the son of Sam and Joyce Gonzales.

Dozer Stolen From Spokane Firm Rallying Reward

A Spokane construction firm offers a 500 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of unknown persons who took their bulldozer from Blanchard Road and used it without permission. The machine caused considerable road damage in the Blanchard area, county official Jim Brockway said.

Student Receives MoorMan Award At University Of Idaho

Teddy Lee Land son of Mr and Mrs Donald C Land Box 7 Samuels has earned the MoorMan Manufacturing Company scholarship for Idaho agriculture students. Land completed his freshman year with a 3.77 GPA majoring in plant science and active in Farm House Alpha Phi Omega Charter Flight Committee and Plant and Soil Science Club. He is scholarship chairman for Farm House. The $300 award is given to undergraduates majoring in agriculture selected by the College of Agriculture Scholarship Committee.
