West regional presidential primary plan gains early support
Officials from Hawaii Idaho Nevada Oregon and Washington agreed to push a regional western primary in May of presidential election years. The plan would allocate delegates by state vote share and oppose the current winner take all system as undemocratic. Nevada remains wary of diluting power at the national convention while Oregon and California were invited but absent. Leaders foresee a strenuous selling job to governors and lawmakers before 1976.

Fatal Sawmill Accident Claims 16 Year Old
A 16 year old boy, James Tanner of Vista California, was killed at a portable sawmill near Clark Fork Idaho. The incident occurred when his raincoat caught in a horizontal blade as a log was being prepared. The body was taken to Moon's Chapel in Sandpoint after pronouncement at Bonner General Hospital.

Bond Set For Drug Suspects In Bonner County
Three men were arrested by Bonner County Sheriff's deputies on Tuesday for possession of marijuana. Donald Meneley 20 Spokane was charged with possession of a controlled substance and carrying a concealed weapon with a $1275 bond. Daniel Wenzel 20 Spokane and Clarence Cunningham 22 Rathdrum were charged with possession with bonds set at $1250. Officers reported six lids of marijuana a small amount of methamphetamine and a loaded .38 revolver in the vehicle. They are scheduled for arraignment today.

Eagleton Sought as Speaker After Withdrawal Controversy
