Bonner County Humane Society elects new officers
The Bonner County Humane Society reorganized its board at the Kaniksu dining room naming Frances Sleep as president Jean Bistline as vice chairwoman Karol LaPointe as secretary and Toni Herrin as treasurer Other board members include Charles Fontaine Don McCormick Roger Hanlon Tom Demers and Bob Nesbitt The group reviews its first year progress reports 58 members and plans 1976 77 activities including an animal hospital shelter project and Be Kind to Animals Week leading to a goal of 1000 members

Eight members of Beta Sigma Phi received the Order of the Rose at the annual Founders Day branch meeting held Saturday morning at the Edgewater Lodge. Lorraine Merrill served as mistress of ceremonies with seating in a Zodiac theme. Girl of the year awards went to Eileen Spring Preceter Omicron Mary Neader Exempler XI Eta Beverly Franson Idaho Nu and Lynn Evans Nu Phi Mu. Outgoing presidents and sponsors were given yellow roses.

Moon files suit to recover funds for Idaho endowment
Idaho State Treasurer Marjorie Moon sues the Board of Examiners and the Legislature in U S District Court seeking about 4.5 million dollars for losses in investments and five years of interest alleged to be owed to the Public School Endowment Fund. Moon says the suit, filed as custodian, rests on the Admiss ions Act and a state obligation to cover investment losses.
