Three Die In Two Car Crash South Of Sandpoint
A two car collision near Westmond on Highway 95 killed three young men and sent three others to Bonner General Hospital. Victims were Steve Cooper 20 Randy Denning 19 both of Bonners Ferry and Fred Howorth 19 of Copeland. In hospital were Charles Kramer Naples William and Susan Childers Sandpoint.

Living Costs Take New Jump
The cost of living rose 0.5 percent in March and 6.1 percent higher than a year earlier. Food edged up 0.1 percent, meat 0.6 percent, dairy 0.5 percent, fruits and vegetables 0.8 percent, while eggs fell about 13 percent from February to March. The March index reached 133.2 percent of the 1957-59 base, meaning $13.32 buys the same goods as in February cost $13.25.

Indiana Man Seeks Partner for Lake Pend Oreille Fishing
Pete Hicks, a 55 year old Valparaiso businessman, plans to visit Sandpoint during opening week of trout season to find a fishing partner for Lake Pend Oreille.
