Ervin E. Vessey of 1300 Bedford road died June 16 in a Pasadena rest home after a lengthy illness. A 45 year local, he helped found Hall Haas and Vessey in Pasadena in 1916 and led as president. Services were held June 19 at Turner Stevens Chapel with burial at Mountain View Cemetery. Survived by wife Katherine, sons Ned and Reeve, sister Mrs Leslie Wilson, brother Carroll Vessey, and six grandchildren.

Storm Drain Program Gets Under Way in San Marino
The San Marino City Council voted to advertise bids on the Monterey road drain project designated as project number five. A year earlier voters approved a 192000 bond issue to add eleven storm drains and relieve flood conditions. The drain will run from Virginia road to Wembley road linking with the Mission drain and Huntington school property. Bid and completion are expected within two months before the rainy season starts.
