South Pasadena to lay a new water main with much of the pipe routed through San Marino. City Engineer H A Barnett says the plan advances after joint approval by San Marino and South Pasadena councils. Route includes St Albans Sherwood Granada El Molino Monterey Garfield and other streets with safeguards and limited open ditches during construction. The project aims to secure local water supply from wells south of Roses Road for storage and distribution in South Pasadena.

Civitan leader Pryor dies in Texas car crash
Leland McLeod Pryor 1788 Sharon Place was killed June 24 in Texas while traveling to California after a Civitan convention in Dallas. He taught at Pasadena City College and led the business administration department. Survivors include wife Eva N. Pryor son Henry mother Mrs. Caroline Pryor brother Dr. Ralph H. Pryor and sister Mrs. Lucille Combs. Services set for 2 p.m. Saturday at Ives and Warren Funeral Home with entombment at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.

Sunny slope Water Company plans to file a writ of review in Superior court to halt the Board of Supervisors order requiring the tank east of San Gabriel boulevard and south of Lombardy road be removed. Dixon Wecter Dies in Berkeley noted historian
Obituary records Dr. Dixon Wecter died in Sacramento Hotel June 24 after addressing a California Library Association meeting.
