Police to vote on $200 base pay ordinance
Members of the San Antonio Police association will meet at 8 pm Monday at the Detective headquarters recreation hall to vote on a proposed city ordinance raising base pay by $200. If approved, the association will present the ordinance, drafted by attorney Carl Wright Johnson, to the city council on Thursday. Mayor Gus Mauermann said funds are not available in the current city budget to fund such a raise, noting borrowing limits and the need for tax increases.
