Insull Junior testified about a trust organized to buy and trade securities but used to hold Insull company stock. He described authorized shares, transfers to family, and sales to Halsey Stuart, with members gaining control and rights to purchase more stock. He cited a photostat list, naming Samuel Ettelson among others.
Insull testified about 250000 shares bought at 12 and sold to an investment trust. He named officers and associates including Young, Ger ard Swope, South Trimble, and Halsey Stuart while denying personal control of the companies. He recalled stock moves from $1 to about $149 with dividends later paid in stock and noted a controversial contract signed around market opening.
Washington Feb 15 examiner Carl H Depue testified to a habit of self dealing by the Insull group. He cited artificial stock values and inflated captions across Europe and Canada. Depue noted Insull Son and Company Inc stock was bought by Insull Utility Investment in 1928 with value discrepancies and mounting liabilities.
