Jim Phelps Wins District Punt Pass and Kick Title
Jim Phelps of 5070 Waterworks Rd. Livonia won the district Punt Pass and Kick title in his age group at Ford Field. He led by 11 points, earned a Lions event dinner on Nov. 4 with Joe Schmidt, and advances to state competition at the Lions game in Detroit. The national finals occur at the 1973 Super Bowl in San Francisco. His marks include an 85 plus yard punt 55 plus yard kickoff and a 72 plus yard pass.
