Saline High School readies for Homecoming with floats prepared nightly under the theme 2001 A Space Odyssey. The parade begins at Trinity Church at 6 p.m. and winds through Harris Harper Lambkins Tower Dr to the Middle School. halftime crowns the 1972 Homecoming Queen with Nancy Starling returning to crown her successor Krista Forrester or Marti Smiley. The Queen’s Court includes freshmen Sué Turner Paul Nagle sophomores Lisa Grossman Dan Scotton and juniors Janice Feldkamp Joe Forrester. Band alumni rehearse at 6:30 p.m. Friday. a dance follows the football game to Eclipse from 9:30 p.m. to midnight with admission 1.50.

Martha Froseth, Union School music teacher, increases from one fifth to one third time after a Monday vote. Enrollment now shows 94 string students, doubling earlier estimates. class sizes drop from 32 to about 18 or 19 as the district plans to recruit two high school helpers. Harvest Time Worship at St. John's Lutheran Church

St. John's Lutheran Church held its Harvest Festival during Sunday worship. Youth decorated the church with produce and pantry items donated by the congregation, and the gifts were sent to the Lutheran Home in Toledo for use.

Saline Council Eyes $400,000 Sewer Link to Metro System

Saline council moves to ratify a $400,000 agreement with Ypsilanti Township for a Bemis Road sewer line linking to the Detroit Metro system. Car Crash Injures Several Teens on North Maple Street

Police report 18 year old Michael Lindemann of 220 Wheeler Court drove a northbound car that left the road and hit a telephone pole on North Maple Street Saturday Oct 14 after 10 p.m. Passengers Roger Leutheuser Kim Wilkerson Steve Burkett and Jeffrey Brososki were treated and released from St Joseph Mercy Hospital Arm Arbor. Lindemann suffered facial lacerations requiring stitches along with head bruises. William Anderson and Leroy Murphy refused treatment.
