Leaf Pickup Begins Next Week With New DPW Gear
Saline starts leaf collection next Monday under a new no burn ordinance. DPW Supervisor Clyde Wellwood says crews will cover the south side on Monday and Tuesday and the north side on Thursday and Friday. Property owners should rake leaves to the curbside gutters. Firemen Save Saline Landmark Home from Saturday Blaze
A damaged electrical circuit caused a Saturday night fire at the 14 room Saline landmark home of Mr. and Mrs. Warren Martin on E Henry St. Smoke filled the rear wing. the fire moved from the family room to the back section and was controlled by Saline Fire Department after help from nearby residents. Rebuilding work was to start this week. Paul Taylor of 7158 Noble Rd remains in University Hospital after a hand injury from a corn picker with four fingers amputated.
