William Delhey Washtenaw County prosecutor will speak at the Saline United Fund Kickoff Dinner next Tuesday October 13 at Leutheuser's Restaurant. Co sponsors Citizens Bank and Saline Savings Bank, drive targets 39023 in contributions. Dr Gerald Hisemann chairs the campaign as the fund seeks to begin the Saline Area drive with a strong start amid memories of the Saline Observer building collapse.

Saline Fair Association to Hold Annual Dinner Meeting
Members and spouses of the Saline Community Fair Association Board will meet Tuesday Oct 13 at 730 p.m. at the Wooden Nickel for reports on the recent Saline Fair and plans for 1971. President Albert Gall says attendance and participation rose, citing Happyland Carnival receipts as evidence of success and noting the fair’s 20 percent share of carnival gross rose about $600 from last year.

Court of Honor recognizes Troop 446 scouts
Boy Scout Troop 446 held a Court of Honor on September 29 at the Junior High School. Brian Singleton earned First Class. Rob Crim and Matt Vila became Star Scouts. Rob Crim received merit badges in swimming, personal fitness, and forestry. Mall Vila earned space exploration and public health merit badges. Mark Sundling received a senior stripe, Joe Auten two years of service star. Scoutmaster Harold West presented the awards. Committee chairman Joe Masterson presided.
