Saline Middle School unveils a year of formal drug education integrated into Health and Growth. The program emphasizes factual, research based material and an on going K twelve information system for students. The board acts on a formal drug abuse policy with implementation to follow across schools.
Three weekend readings of humorous folk tales scheduled at Saline Public Library by Eastern Michigan University students. Aimed at pre school to third graders, but all welcome at 1 p.m. performances. Dates are Oct 13 Oct 27 and Nov 10.
Junior Achievement centers across Southeastern Michigan start the 1973 74 program next week October 15 with registration ongoing. High school students sign up at local centers from 7 to 9 p m Monday through Thursday. Centers at Ann Arbor 3345 Washtenaw Ave and Ypsilanti 113 Pearl St host weekly meetings as students run small corporations with guidance. program runs through April.
Jane Swihart daughter of Mr and Mrs William D Swihart of Saline continues her cheer career as a Ferris State College cheerleading team member. A junior and marketing major she previously captained the Saline Hornet varsity squad in her senior year 1970 1971.
Saline city council discusses Halloween night events with Jaycees and Auxiliary including parking lot use from 8 to 11 pm and a 7 30 pm fire whistle for October 31 1973. Banner across City Hall authorized October 15 31. Other items: water tower lettering study, August police report, 1972 73 audit, and a special meeting set for October 8 1973 to review the audit.
