Peace Corps Members Share Jamaica Experience

Council Vote Tally Stands After Partial Machine Not Recountable

The city recount found no change in totals, but one precinct machine was declared not recountable due to a threading fault in the write in paper. All four machines were deemed mechanically sound, with officials noting the flaw was addressed and confidence in the election procedure restored.

Civitan Club to Put Up Christmas Decorations in Saline

The Civitan Club of Saline will install Christmas decorations after Thanksgiving and manage Santa's mailbox at the main intersection. Harry Parsons chairs the project. Santa will visit on December 13 at Community Ford Sales and December 20 at the Kiwanis Club event at the Junior High School.

Ford Plant to Add 88 000 Sq Ft Warehouse Space

Ford Motor Co Saline plant to add an 88000 square foot warehouse at the northeast corner to store parts for in plant processing and outgoing shipments. Construction to begin within three weeks and be completed by spring. The plant now covers 18 acres and employs about 2500. the addition will add a few workers. A new Electro cure process will be used to cure painted surfaces in seconds for about 10 million decorative parts for 1971 models. Ford will sell equipment for generating electrons license the process and market paints. The Saline plant manager Jon Adams says Electro cure will be applied to instrument panels for Ford Mercury Cougars and some truck grilles. Other plastics are under study.

Red Cross Seeks Voices from Home Christmas program

The Washtenaw County Red Cross invites relatives of servicemen overseas or hospitalised to schedule 15 minute private taping sessions for VOICES FROM HOME between December 1 and December 17. Tapes are provided and mailed free to service members, with appointments via 971-5300.

Cubs Fire Rockets Award Winners at Pack 464 Meeting

Cub Scouts of Pack 464 held a rocket launch contest at Jensen School with a 100 ft track. Den winners include Khalid Hanifi and Ken Wimple, with Webelo awards and badges for David Johnson Mike Stoll Larry Hoffman and others. Bobcat and Wolf ranks awarded along with service awards to several members.
