Our Girls Senior Class Comedy at the High School

The Senior Class comedy Our Girls features Dave Houdek Jim Strahley and Gary Graff in dress as the trio in skirts and wigs. The cast includes Pete Janovits Sharon Lancaster Steve Wild Carol Krau Shaar Jan Thill Cheryl Mayer and more with director Mrs Gloria Jadwin. Performances run Friday through Sunday at the High School theater.

Volz seeks rezoning of Marken property on Lewis Street

Kenneth Volz Sr of 434 E Michigan Ave asked Council Monday to rezone the former Marken property on N Lewis St from single family to two family. Council referred the request to the planning commission. Bond bids were awarded to Saline Savings Bank for 1969 Motor Vehicle Highway Fund bonds amounting to 35000.

High School presents Our Girls in weekend performances

The Senior Class play Our Girls runs Friday to Sunday in the Little Theater at the High School. Curtain at 8 p.m. The three act comedy is directed by Conrad Seiler with Mrs. Gloria Jadwin and Alyce Krivsky as student director. Tickets at the door cost 1.25 for adults and 1 for students. Cast includes Brian Prater Cindy Burman Dave Houdek Gary Graff Jim Strahley Cheryl Mayer Carol Kraushaar Steve Wild Sharon Lanst caster Jan Thill and Pete Janovits.

Recount and Machine Inspection Set for Friday in City Council Race

A recount of four voting machines from the November council election will occur at 1 p.m. Friday at the Junior High School. Washtenaw County canvassers ordered the recount following a petition by write-in candidate Hubert Beach who contends one machine was defective and voting procedures had errors. If any machine is ruled defective it will be excluded and the final tally will come from the others. a new election would occur only if all four machines fail. Councilmen Jameson Ford Jack Measley and Edward Marsh were elected.

Historic House Demolished for Clark Oil Station

A century old house at the corner of West Michigan Avenue and South Lewis Street was razed by Clark Oil Co to build a service station. The Schairer family owned it for 90 years before 1940 purchase by Charles Kerns. later sold to Joe Koutz and then bought by Clark Oil for 48 000 dollars. The property valuation rise from 2 800 dollars in 1940 to 24 000 dollars two years ago reflects hot market trends.

Union Thanksgiving Rites Set for Saline Nov 26

A community Thanksgiving service sponsored by the Saline Ministerial Association will be held at 7 30 p m Wednesday Nov 26 at the First Presbyterian Church of Saline. Special music by the High School Choir and sermons by local pastors. An offering will help C R O P and the association projects.
