Saline police nab suspects after fast citizen tip
A Saline resident alerted police at 1 15 a m to two suspects from Inkster and Westland. An eastbound US 12 stop led to the arrest of a man with a loaded sawed off shotgun and a woman with mace. They were booked for unlawfully driving away and carrying concealed weapons. Bail set next day.

Joan Kelley and Liz Hayes were named co chairs for the Saline March of Dimes. They plan to recruit 65 volunteers in the city for the drive starting January 11. Saline teachers may get a fourth hearing in contract talks
Saline Area teachers may see a fourth hearing as state fact finder Elaine Frost continues negotiations with the Saline School Board over salary, insurance, longevity and other issues. Supt Harold Hintz said the Friday four hour session left insurance and longevity unresolved and the next meetings are planned for Tuesday November 23 with potential additional sessions if time runs out. Frost is expected to report to the board and the Saline Education Association in two to four weeks, after which neither side is obligated to accept recommendations, and a contract may not be in place before Christmas vacation.
