Students Raise Funds for UNICEF Drive Across Saline
Saturday afternoon 45 junior high students canvassed the northeast section of Saline to complete a citywide UNICEF solicitation started by youth from the Methodist, Presbyterian and St. Paul churches. They collected $110.15 this session, bringing the total raised by church groups to $335.15 after last week’s $235.00.

Fair Board Annual Meet Set
Saline Fair Board holds its annual meeting at 8:30 p.m. Monday in the high school agriculture room to elect officers and conduct board business.
Jaycees Launch Holiday Fruitcake Sale

Two Men Injured in Willis Road Collision
At 10 p.m. Friday a crash at Willis Rd and Old Creek Dr left two men injured. Dave Seeger, 24, of Lawson, treated at Saline Community Hospital for a broken arm. Wesley Armbruster, 24, of Harris, advised to see his physician if back pain continued. The drivers were David Hoeft and Fred Raus. neither driver injured.

Council Incumbents Re-elected Amid Write-In Challenge
Three incumbents Jameson Ford Edward Marsh and Jack Measley won re election as the sole opposing candidate was a late write in Hubert Beach who captured 139 votes. Beach urged changes to write in procedures and criticized voting machine flaws citing gear slip and misbiased instructions. He warned of potential election voiding but acknowledged the large margin for the winners.

Volunteers to Help at Saline Blood Bank Event
Local volunteers including nurses and doctors will staff the Saline Blood Bank at Houghton School next Wednesday November 12. The Red Cross Bloodmobile will collect and store blood from 2 30 to 5 p m and from 6 to 8 30 p m with Dr W C Vander Yacht overseeing the afternoon and Dr R C Bernreuter supervising the evening.
