York Decision to Hike Saline Schools Millage On Ballot
York Township decides to place a millage request on the ballot instead of accepting a 0.96 mill deduction, increasing Saline Area schools’ allotment to about 9.55 mills and adding roughly $11,708. The move affects Milan voters in the township and prompts a future vote on reassessment via added taxes. A six-member committee reviewed assessments and found no need for reassessment, cautioning that a full reassessment would cost about $16,000 and deny voters the chance to decide on added taxation.
