Saline School Board seeks 10.85 mill renewal for 1972 73
In a May 28 special meeting the Saline Area School Board approved asking voters to renew 10.85 mills for the 1972 73 year, with the June 12 election set. The millage would be a flat renewal based on state equalized evaluations. a preliminary budget may be prepared by July 1 if approved.

The Saline Recreation Commission sponsors Saline Day on May 27 as part of Michigan Week. Jim Martek organized sidewalk sales, WPAG and the popcorn wagon visits, and a Recreation Commission Information Booth with Summer Recreation program data. Little League candy sale funds summer baseball, and a softball game at Henney Field at 1 p.m. features the Women’s All Star Team against Recreation Commission members.

Memorial Day Parade and Rites Planned in Saline
The Memorial Day events start with a parade from Harris St and E Michigan Ave at 10 a.m. on May 29. Participants bring their own transportation. A ceremony at Oakwood Cemetery features Saline Bands, Carl Mueller, Rev Lawrence Cole, Dorothy Finkbeiner, and a wreath presentation by Mueller and Moranville. A firing squad and Taps follow, then a flag raising at Union Elementary School and a flag burning at the American Legion Home.
