Negotiators for Saline city and the Saline Police Officers Association reach a tentative deal after months of bargaining. The 1970-71 contract raises starting pay to 8144 with a 1300 yearly increase, cuts weekly hours to 40, adds holiday overtime pay time off days and new insurance and uniform benefits. All Saline schools route calls through a single switchboard at 429 4981. The changeover, completed Tuesday, follows a three year project. The High School switchboard now handles extensions to Junior High Jensen and Houghton, replacing former numbers. Lightning Sets House Ablaze After Putting Out Phone
