Saline High Theater hosts A Blast from the Past a home talent show produced by the Saline Band Parents Club led by Jack Livingstone and Mrs. Bob Merchant. The March 24 25 event features Saline area singers musicians dancers and comedic acts to raise funds for the Saline High Band.

Saline City Council Honors Hornets and Alters Charter Proposals
In a special March 13 meeting the Saline City Council unanimously commended the Saline Hornets basketball team for their season. The council also backed two residency proposal measures for elected and appointed officials and debated Charter changes including the Justice of the Peace repeal. A transfer of 6976.41 from Water Receiving to Water and Sewer Improvement funds was approved to cover the April 1 1972 bond interest.

A local fire department kept a house fire under control after faulty wiring sparked flames. The Dieterles escaped with few losses, though two baby pigs survived, while firefighters were pictured in action at the scene.

Hornet Band Tops District Festival With Perfect I Ratings
Saline High School Hor net Band earned a perfect string of I ratings from 14 bands at Monroe District Band Festival. Judges praised the horn section and overall performance with 32 letter grades four A pluses 25 As and three A minuses. The group performs March 29 at the High School Theater and again April 29 at the State Solo and Ensemble Festival.
