On Jordan Road at Waynard Carr farm a 12 acre wheat field yielded about 400 bushels with 15 farmhands and Ray Alber’s 1912 steam engine and 1927 Baker thresher in capably turning grain. Perry Wood’s self propeller moved more grain than 15 workers. Bemis Road crop yielded 35 bushels per acre. The event drew several hundred spectators with a threshers meal by Mrs Carr. some talk of a repeat next year as wheat prices mirror market volatility.
