All Around Saline Town Saline High Student Council members host a Saturday car wash from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church parking lot Harris at McKay St. Proceeds support scholarships dances and other projects. Outside wash 75c inside 1.25.

Saline High Class of 1972 Gifts to Charities

The Saline High School class of 1972 sent a portion of its treasury in June to the Washtenaw Chapter of the National Cystic Fibrosis Research Foundation. Gifts also went to the American Cancer Society and ALSAC Aid for Leukemia Stricken American Children. The CF chapter expresses gratitude for the support aiding children with ongoing therapy. An early bake sale is planned at Wight Cleaners Saturday from 7 am to 12 noon to beat the heat.

Orchestra Plan Proposed For Saline Schools

Saline Schools as proposed by Musical Director David Wolter to add a four year string orchestra for Grades 4 through 8 starting this fall. If student interest remains high the program could expand to the High School, with a detailed cost and scheduling plan to be presented in August.

Dixie the elephant helps set up Fisher Bros Circus in Saline

Even Dixie the elephant appears in the preparations as the Fisher Bros Circus arrives. On Monday August 14 at Hemne Field the Fire Dept brings two performances at 6 and 8 pm. Workers include props, costumes, canvas, animal care, and loading crews.
