New Park High School Bid Totals Set at 5.51 Million
Officials report bids on the new Park High School came in as expected or slightly under the 5,507,402 total cost. Spence Brothers of Saginaw submitted the low general contract bid at 3,985,500 while Ehle Electric of Ann Arbor bid 570,042 for electrical work and Boone & Carr of Ann Arbor won plumbing and heating at 951,860.

Serious head-on crash puts man in hospital
John G. Bihlmeyer 27 of 7926 Schneider Rd. remains in serious condition at University Hospital after a head-on collision on Austin Rd near Parker Rd. His wife Sandra 27 injured and in good condition. Gary G. Paxton 22 of Manchester, driver of the other car, was released from the hospital. Ambulance transfer was expedited by a helicopter from Wayne County.

Car Crash Pins Three In Wreck Between Trees
Mrs Funk drove the car on US 12 near Willow Road when it left the road and became stuck between two trees. Three people were pinned in the wrecked car and two trees had to be cut away before they could be extricated. All three, including Mr and Mrs Robert Funk and George Black, were treated at St Joseph Mercy Hospital.
