Sincere thanks to volunteers at the Saline area Blood Bank collection at the school on Thursday. Nurses doctors aides canteen workers registrars and even babysitters are thanked along with donors and would-be donors for their efforts.
The SLF Extension and The S LF Neighbors Extension group held a Monday evening meeting at the home of Mrs. Giles Thielk.
The Friendship Extension group will meet Monday at the home of Mrs. A F G Daechsel.
The League of Women Voters of Ann Arbor outlines a plan to extend terms for governor and others to four years, pair the governor and lieutenant governor on the ballot, and grant the lieutenant the tie-breaking vote in the senate. It calls for appointive heads of most departments, a 20 agency cap, and a streamlined budget process with a balanced budget requirement.
Michigan dairy leader Ernest Girbach, Washtenaw County dairyman, named to the National Dairy Council Board of Directors at the NDC 48th annual meeting. He runs a 400 acre operation with 60 cows, and has long promoted milk through the American Dairy Association and Michigan associations.
Catholic Social Services of Washtenaw County hosts its fourth annual dinner February 13 in the Michigan Union ballroom Ann Arbor at 6 30 p m with Very Rev Msgr Wilbur Suedkamp and Rev John A Trese as speakers. The agency serves the community nonprofit and non denominational offering adoption foster care and psych and case work services to families including 13 Saline area cases last year. The second series of Home Economics lessons titled "Man aging Your Credit" will be taught on February 8 and February 11 in the County Building. Eunice Pardee leads the February 8 class at 1 p.m. and Alice Epple leads the February 11 session at 7:30 p.m.
The Ann Arbor Friendship club sponsored by the recreation department will hold a Valentine dance and card party at Pattengill School on Friday February 8 at 8 p.m. The Sentimentals provide music.
